
The Songwriters Corridor of Fame has introduced its class of 2023. Sade Adu, the singer and songwriter behind quiet storm group Sade, is among the many inductees, as are Snoop Dogg, Gloria Estefan, new jack swing mastermind Teddy Riley, the Michael Jackson and Alanis Morissette collaborator Glen Ballard, ELO’s Jeff Lynne, and the someday Taylor Swift co-writer Liz Rose. The ceremony takes place on June 15.
Nile Rodgers, chairman of the Songwriters Corridor of Fame, stated in a press launch, “The music business doesn’t exist with out songwriters delivering nice songs first. With out them there is no such thing as a recorded music, no live performance enterprise, no merch… nothing, all of it begins with the music and the songwriter. We’re subsequently very proud that we’re regularly recognizing a few of the culturally most vital songwriters of all time and that the 2023 slate represents not simply iconic songs but additionally range and unity throughout genres, ethnicity and gender, songwriters who’ve enriched our lives and, of their time, actually remodeled music and the lives of billions of listeners all around the world.”
